Can Artificial Intelligence help mitigate cyber attacks?

The integration of AI tools in cybersecurity has been going on for some time now, however, its scope has changed drastically.
Omar Alcalá , cybersecurity manager for Tenable Latam, explained how theArtificial intelligence(AI) supports the cybersecurity of companies.

According to the executive, 53% of the total data exposed worldwide in 2022 was in Latin America, while 96% of Mexican organizations claim to have suffered a cyberattack that affected their business in the last year.

Furthermore, vulnerabilities dating back to 2017 are said to continue to be successfully exploited in wide-ranging attacks.

In this context, Alcalá said the current approach to cybersecurity is reactive, relying heavily on post-event data to find the source of an attack and clean up the mess.

The executive urged organizations to take preventive actions such as: anticipating and controlling, aligning resources, preventing future attacks, among others.
