A few weeks ago, I wrote about how my experience has taught me that mentoring is no longer just a nice-to-have, but a necessity for guiding a successful career. But how can you make the most of your mentorship?

Here are some steps to maximize your mentorship.

First, decide what you’re looking for in a mentor. Are you looking for expert advice to help you solve technical problems on the job—someone who can connect you to resources or training opportunities? Or do you want a listening ear who can help you take the next step in your career?
